The Witch
This production of Witch by Jen Silverman, staged at the Krannert Center in February 2024, features costume designs that blend the structured silhouettes of 1620s England with bold, modern flourishes. The visual language was crafted to reflect the play’s timeless, otherworldly tone—where magic, manipulation, and moral ambiguity coexist. From gilded textures and lush embroidery to contemporary fabric choices and theatrical detailing, each look was designed to reflect character psychology while reinforcing the production’s “out of time” atmosphere. The result is a costume world that bridges history and fantasy, grounding the story in emotional truth while pushing stylistic boundaries.
